Thornstone Working Dogs
Alongside the kennel we keep a small working-dog program — German Shepherds and American Pit Bull Terriers — run on its own records, contracts and standards. It is deliberately modest, and it is not what keeps the boarding business running.

What we hold ourselves to
Health testing first
Breeding stock is health tested and mature before any litter is planned. No litter goes ahead to meet demand.
Temperament over looks
We select for stable, biddable temperament suited to real work and family life — not for size, colour or intensity.
Written contracts
Every placement is documented, with health records, pedigree paperwork and clear terms on both sides.
Buyer screening
We ask questions, and we will say no. A good match matters more than a completed sale.
Conservative frequency
One or two litters a year at most, with long gaps and full records kept separately from the kennel.
Lifetime responsibility
If a placement ever fails, the dog comes back to us. That is not a slogan — it is in the contract.
